My new Hermès article is now out

For my latest journey in the series I write and photograph for Le Monde d’Hermès — you can see the others here — I went to the French Basque country to meet with a father and son who are the last in France to make entirely by hand the chistera, which is the long wicker scoop used in the signature Basque sport pelota (known as jai alai in the United States).  The craft process itself was interesting to discover; the central role the chistera craftsman plays in the local Basque community near the resort town of Biarritz was even more compelling.  I will be posting the full text and maybe some outtake photographs from the journey soon but it has been published in a dozen languages and you can pick up a copy of the magazine at any Hermès boutique anywhere in the world.
