A Guatemalan’s final video before his murder

After reading David Grann’s terrific article “A Murder Foretold” in the New Yorker (4 April 2011) about the convoluted art of political murder in Guatemala, I had to track down the amateur video made by Rodrigo Rosenberg, the murdered man at the center of the conspiracy.  I doesn’t give anything away about the twists and turns in Grann’s story to say that almost everything about this video is a lie — except, perhaps, that the lie gets at a bigger and undeniable truth about the role of assassination in Guatemalan politics.  Watch the video first, read the article, then watch it again and the mystery of the whole thing only grows more confounding.
